How To Make Apple Pie Patties - Gluten Free

1

To make pastry, mix a beaten egg, vinegar and cold water in a small bowl. Set aside.

2

Dump Gluten Free Baking Flour, granulated sugar and salt into a mixing bowl.

3

Measure in some shortening and use a pastry cutter and blend until mixture resembles small peas.

4

Stir the egg mixture into the dry ingredients.

5

Knead to form a ball.  Divide into 2 balls.

6

Roll out the balls, one at a time, on a piece of plastic wrap sprinkled with flour.

7

Sprinkle dough with a bit of flour. Place plastic wrap on top as well to prevent roller from sticking to dough.

8

Use a 3" cookie cutter to cut rounds in the pastry.

9

Open a tin of apple pie filling and use a knife to cut through apples to make them into smaller segments. Scoop about a tablespoon of pie filling onto center of round.

10

Top with another pastry round.

11

Use a fork to seal the edges.

12

Transfer to a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Plac ebaking sheet into a preheated 425F oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

13

Remove and allow to cool completely on pan.

14

Once cooled dump icing sugar and a bit of water into a small bowl. Add water a bit at a time until you get your desired consistency for piping from a bag.

15

Pipe icing onto each Apple Pie Pattie.

16

Once icing sets you can transfer Patties to a serving dish.

17

  Serve.
