How to Make Chocolate Pecan Pie

Prepare pastry or thaw a gluten free pie shell.

Melt butter on low in microwave.

Prepare filling by beating together eggs, sugar, corn syrup, maple syrup, corn starch, cocoa and melted butter in a mixing bowl.

Stir in some chocolate chips and pecans.

Pour mixture into pie shell.

Press some whole pecans into the filling.

Put a pie guard around the exposed crust.

Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 50 - 60 minutes or until pie is almost set in center.

Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.  It will firm up more as it cools.

Slice.
