How to Make Venison Meatloaf

Line a large loaf pan (9"x5") with tinfoil and spray it with cooking spray.

Dice up enough yellow onion to make 1/3 cup.

Dump some ground venison and ground beef into a large mixing bowl.

Add the diced onion, bread crumbs, eggs, cocoa, salt and pepper.

Mix together well.  I use my hands near the end.

Press into the prepared loaf pan.

Place in preheated 350F oven and cook for 20 minutes.

While meatloaf cooking mix sauce by combining some salsa verde and bbq sauce in a small bowl.

After 20 minutes remove meatloaf from oven and spread most of the sauce over top.  Reserve 1/2 cup.

Return to the oven and cook for another 40 minutes or until 160 degrees is reached on a meat thermometer.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes use the tinfoil to remove it from the pan to a cutting board.

Slice.
