Before making Cranberry Orange Fudge I lined an 8″ square baking pan with parchment paper and lightly sprayed it with cooking spray.

Next I softened some butter in the microwave.

Then I dumped some granulated sugar, evaporated milk and the softened butter into a sauce pan.

After stirring, I turned the heat to medium and stirred occasionally until mixture came to a boil.

In the mean time I zested one orange.

I also prepared the rest of the ingredients needed.

Once the mixture started to boil I stirred continuously and let it continue boiling for 4 minutes.

After four minutes I removed the mixture from the heat and stirred in some white chocolate chips and marshmallow creme.

After the white chocolate chips and marshmallow creme were incorporated I added in some craisins and the orange zest.

Once the orange zest and cranberries were stirred in well, I poured the fudge into the prepared pan.

Then I spread the delicious Cranberry Orange Fudge out evenly in the pan.

I placed the pan in the fridge for a couple of hours to allow the fudge to set.

Once set, I used the parchment paper to lift the fudge out of the pan.

Then I cut the fudge into squares.

Cranberry Orange Fudge is great as a stand alone treat but it is also the perfect addition to any holiday dessert tray.

The flavour combination of orange and cranberry will be a refreshing delight to any palate.

FAQS:

How do I store cranberry orange fudge?

Storing cranberry orange fudge properly is essential to maintain its freshness and flavor. Here are some general guidelines on how to store cranberry orange fudge:

  1. Room Temperature:
    • Fudge can be stored at room temperature for short periods, typically up to one week.
    • Keep it in an airtight container to prevent exposure to air and moisture, which can cause the fudge to become dry or lose its texture.
  2. Refrigeration:
    • For longer storage, you can refrigerate cranberry orange fudge.
    • Place the fudge in an airtight container or wrap it tightly with plastic wrap.
    • Refrigeration helps to maintain the freshness and prevents the fudge from becoming too soft or sticky.
  3. Layering:
    • If you’re storing multiple layers of fudge, separate each layer with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  4. Avoid Moisture:
    • Moisture can affect the quality of fudge, so make sure the container is tightly sealed to prevent the entry of air and moisture.
  5. Cool Storage Area:
    • If storing at room temperature, choose a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
  6. Flavor Transfer:
    • Keep strongly flavored foods away from the fudge to prevent flavor transfer.

If the fudge shows signs of spoilage or changes in texture, it’s best to discard it. Proper storage will help keep your cranberry orange fudge fresh and delicious for a more extended period.

Can I freeze cranberry orange fudge?

Yes, you can freeze cranberry orange fudge. Freezing is a good way to extend the shelf life of fudge and other desserts. Here are some steps you can follow to freeze cranberry orange fudge:

  1. Allow the Fudge to Set: Make sure the fudge has fully set and cooled to room temperature before attempting to freeze it.
  2. Cut into Portions: Cut the fudge into individual portions or desired sizes. This makes it easier to thaw and serve later without having to defrost the entire batch.
  3. Wrap Well: Wrap each piece of fudge tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Alternatively, you can place the pieces in a single layer in a plastic container, separating layers with parchment paper.
  4. Use an Airtight Container: If you’re using a container, make sure it’s airtight to prevent freezer burn and maintain the freshness of the fudge.
  5. Label and Date: It’s always a good idea to label and date the packaging so you can keep track of how long the fudge has been in the freezer.
  6. Freeze: Place the wrapped or containerized fudge in the freezer. Try to store it away from foods with strong odors to prevent the fudge from absorbing unwanted flavors.
  7. Thawing: When you’re ready to enjoy the fudge, remove the desired amount from the freezer and let it thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Thawing in the refrigerator is generally a safer method as it prevents condensation on the fudge, which can affect its texture.

Keep in mind that while freezing can help preserve the fudge for an extended period, the texture may change slightly upon thawing. However, many people find that the taste remains delicious even after freezing.
