Creamy Stove Top Chicken and Pasta – Gluten Free

Creamy Stove Top Chicken and Pasta is a comfort recipe that is quick and easy to make.  This gluten free skillet dinner is sure to hit the spot any night of the week.

For this recipe I used Catelli gluten free pasta and prepared it according to the package directions.

Creamy Stove Top Chicken and Pasta serves four people.  This recipe is easy to modify to include your own choice of vegetables.  Load in as many as you like!

Every mouthful is loaded with pasta, chicken and vegetables smothered in a creamy sauce.

As mentioned earlier I started making Creamy Stove Top Chicken and Pasta by preparing one box of Catelli gluten free Penne according to the package directions.

While the water boiled for the pasta, I cut up some cooked chicken into bite size pieces.

Then I turned a skillet on to medium heat and added in almond milk and two packets of powdered chicken gravy mix.

When the powder was incorporated into the milk I continued stirring until the gravy came to a boil and started to thicken.

Then I added in some frozen mixed vegetables and black pepper.  I allowed the sauce to come to a boil again, stirring occasionally.

Once the pasta was done cooking I strained it in the sink.

Next I dumped the cooked pasta into the skillet.

After stirring in the pasta I dumped in the cut up cooked chicken I had set aside earlier.  I lowered the heat to simmer.

I let all the ingredients simmer for about 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes it was time to serve up the Creamy Stove Top Chicken and Pasta.

This recipe would be an excellent choice for those nights where you have to rush out to take your children to their various activities.

Ingredients You’ll Need to Make this Creamy Stove Top Chicken and Pasta:

  • 340g Catelli gluten free Penne (1 box)
  • 4 cups cooked chicken
  • 50g gluten free chicken gravy mix (2 packets)
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

How to Make Creamy Stove Top Chicken and Pasta:

  1. Prepare pasta according to package directions.
  2. While water coming to a boil for pasta cut up enough cooked chicken to measure 4 cups. Keep the pieces bite size.
  3. Place a large skillet on the stove top and turn heat to medium.
  4. Pour in 2 cups of almond milk and the 2 packets of chicken gravy powder.
  5. Stir while it comes to a boil and then add in the 2 cups of frozen mixed vegetables. Stir occasionally until it comes to a boil again.
  6. When the pasta is ready strain it in the sink and add it to the skillet.
  7. Stir in the cooked chicken that had been set aside earlier.
  8. When combined reduce heat to simmer and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
  9. After 5 minutes serve it up.
  10. Enjoy!

hey i was just wondering if the gluten free gravy calls for milk instead of water? i will just be using dairy free gravy and it only calls for water so im wondering if i sdhould use dairy free milk or just water?

Hi Jami, I used almond milk instead of the water required on the package in order to make it creamy. So if you want it creamy I would use a dairy free milk. Enjoy, Kathleen
