To begin making Creamy Maple Sausage & Vegetable Skillet Dinner I chose the gluten free sausages I wanted to use.  This time my sausage of choice was venison sundried tomato.

I used a sharp knife to cut the sausages up into small pieces.

Once all the sausages were cut up I put some olive oil into a skillet over medium heat.

While the sausages were starting to cook I cut up some brussel sprouts, asparagus and a yellow onion.

Then I dumped the asparagus and brussel sprouts into the pan with the sausage meat and gave it a quick stir.

Next I added in the yellow onion and gave another stir.

I allowed the sausages and vegetables to cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally while I prepared the creamy maple sauce.

To make the sauce I melted some margarine in a microwave safe measuring cup and then stirred in some Bob’s Red Mill All Purpose Gluten Free Flour Blend.

Then I added in some salt, pepper, mustard and our pure maple syrup.

After that was all stirred in I whisked in some almond milk.

Then to finish it off I added some bacon crumble because who doesn’t like bacon.  Feel free to leave out the bacon if you prefer.

Once the vegetables had been cooking with the sausage meat for 10 minutes I poured the cream sauce into the skillet.

I stirred the sauce until it had come to a boil and thickened, about 5 minutes, before turning the burner to simmer for about 3 minutes.

Immediately serve up plates of Creamy Maple Sausage & Vegetable Skillet Dinner.

This one pot dinner is an easy enough recipe to prepare any night of the week for your family to enjoy meat and vegetables smothered in a savoury maple sauce!
