To begin making Chocolate Pecan Squares I dumped some butter, Bob’s Red Mill 1 to 1 Gluten Free Baking Flour and granulated sugar into a mixing bowl.

I combined them, until crumbly, using a pastry blender.

Then I dumped the mixture into an 9″ x 13″ baking pan that I had greased with some butter.

Using my hands, I pressed the crust down to pack it evenly in the pan.

Once it was packed firmly it was time to bake it.

I placed it in a 350F oven to bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.

While the base was cooking I prepared the topping by beating some eggs, granulated sugar, corn syrup, maple syrup, and melted butter together in a mixing bowl.

I used a large wooden spoon and beat until smooth.

Then I stirred in some semi-sweet chocolate chips and some chopped pecans.

Next I poured the topping evenly over the baked crust.

Then I returned the baking pan to the oven, on the middle rack, for another 40 – 45 minutes, or until the topping was set and golden brown.

After removing the square from the oven I allowed it to cool completely in the pan.

I run a knife all around the edges before I cut into these squares.

Once completely cooled, cut the Chocolate Pecan Squares into serving sizes to suit your occasion.

Transfer the Chocolate Pecan Squares to a serving dish.

Enjoy every tasty bite of this decadent dessert!

Can you substitute A/P flour for the gluten free flour? If yes, is the same amount? Thank you for your response in advance.

Hi Kay, I used a 1 to 1 gluten free flour and they say that is a direct substitute. So you would use the same amount of your all purpose flour. Let us know how they turn out if you try them!! Take care, Kathleen
