The first thing I did to make Salisbury Steak, was to dump 2 pounds of ground moose meat into a large mixing bowl.
Then I diced enough yellow onion to make 1/4 cup.
I added the diced onion, an egg, some, pepper and salt to the mixing bowl.
Then measure in the remaining seasonings; some dry mustard, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder.
I combined all the ingredients well.
Then I used 5 slices of cooked bacon.
I chopped the bacon up into small pieces.
Then I heated some olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Once the bacon was mixed into the meat I formed the meat into patties.
I made 6 patties that were just over 6oz each.
Next I placed the patties into the heated oil in the large skillet.
I covered them with the lid and allowed them to cook for about 8 minutes.
Then I sliced up the remainder of the onion.
While the patties were cooking I prepared some gravy according to the package directions.
After 8 minutes I removed the lid.
I flipped the patties making a space in the center of the pan.
Cook on this side for about 8 minutes again.
Then I threw the sliced onions in the space I had created in the center of the pan.
I stirred the onions around in the pan until softened.
After about 8 minutes I poured the prepared gravy over top of the meat and onions.
I let it simmer for about 5 minutes on low with the lid back on pan.
Remove the pan from the heat and get ready to serve up your main course!
We like to place a serving of mashed potatoes on a plate.
Then serve up a Salisbury Steak on top of the potatoes smothered in the gravy and onions.
Enjoy every mouthful of this delicious and quick dinner recipe any time of the year!
