How do I store gluten free Rolo turtles?
Storing gluten-free Rolo turtles follows similar guidelines to regular ones. Here’s how you can do it:
- Room Temperature: If you plan to consume them within a few days, storing them at room temperature in an airtight container works well. Make sure to place parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking.
- Refrigeration: If you need to store them for a longer duration or if your kitchen tends to be warm, you can store them in the refrigerator. Again, place them in an airtight container or zip-lock bag with parchment paper between layers.
- Separation: Regardless of the storage method, it’s essential to separate layers with parchment paper to prevent them from sticking together, especially if they contain caramel.
- Labeling: If you’re preparing them for later consumption, it’s helpful to label the container with the date of preparation to keep track of freshness.
Remember to check the specific ingredients of your recipe to ensure they are truly gluten-free and to avoid cross-contamination during preparation and storage if you have severe gluten allergies.

Yes, you can freeze gluten-free Rolo turtles. However, it’s essential to ensure proper packaging to maintain their quality. Here’s how you can do it:

- Place in an airtight container: Once individually wrapped, place the turtles in an airtight container or freezer bag. Make sure to remove as much air as possible before sealing.
- Label and date: Always label the container or bag with the date of freezing to keep track of freshness.
- Freeze: Put the container or bag in the freezer. Try to place it in a single layer initially to prevent them from sticking together. Once frozen solid, you can stack them if needed.
