To begin making Instant Pot Steak and Potatoes I put 4 eye of round marinating steaks into a Ziploc bag.

Then I poured in some Italian salad dressing as my marinade.

I put the bag of steaks in the fridge for 4 – 6 hours.  Every once in a while I flipped the bag over to make sure all of the meat was covered.

After marinating the steaks I set the Instant Pot to Saute and added in a bit of olive oil.

Next I sprinkled some Montreal Steak Spice on the meat and then added the marinated steaks to the Instant Pot and browned them on both sides.

While searing the steaks in the Pot I scrubbed 4 medium sized potatoes.

Once the steaks were browned I poured in some beef broth to deglaze the pot.  This step, where you scrape any bits from the bottom of your Pot is very important for avoiding the Burn message later when the Pot is coming to pressure.

I put my trivet into the Pot and set the 4 eye of round steaks on top.

Next I added in the 4 potatoes.

Then I placed the lid on the Instant Pot, turned the steam release handle to the sealing position and set the Instant Pot to Pressure Cook High for 12 minutes.

Once the Instant Pot was done cooking, I allowed it to do a Natural Release for 10 minutes before turning the steam release handle to the venting position.

After all the pressure was released I removed the lid.

I removed the potatoes, meat and trivet.  I covered the meat with tinfoil to keep it warm while I used a corn starch slurry to thicken the liquid in the Pot.  This is optional.

Serve up your Instant Pot Steak and Potatoes in any way that suits your occasion.

We like our potatoes loaded with butter but you can serve them to suit your preferences.

Add your favourite vegetable or a side salad to complete your meal.

If you have thickened the liquid in the Pot smother your meat in gravy…or your potato too.

However you choose to serve Instant Pot Steak and Potatoes I am sure you will enjoy this tenderized meat.
