To begin making Instant Pot Beef Round Roast with Gravy I put some olive oil into the Instant Pot and turned it to the Saute Normal Function for 5 minutes.

When it was heated I added the roast.

I seared the roast on the sides and ends.

Then I removed it from the Pot to deglaze.

To deglaze I added some beef broth to the Pot and scraped any brown bits from the bottom.  This is a very important step to avoid the Burn message while the Pot is coming to pressure later.

After deglazing I put the round roast on the trivet and carefully lowered it into the Instant Pot.

Then I placed the lid on the Instant Pot, turned the steam release handle to the sealing position and set the Instant Pot to Pressure Cook High for 70 minutes.

Once the Instant Pot was done cooking, I allowed it to do a Natural Release for 15 minutes before turning the steam release handle to the venting position to release any remaining pressure.

Then I removed the lid and carefully lifted out the trivet with the roast on it.

Next I added two packets of gluten free brown gravy mix to the liquid remaining in the Pot and turned the Pot to the Saute Normal Function for 3 minutes.

When the gravy started to boil I shut the Pot off.

I allowed the meat to rest for a few minutes on a cutting board while I prepared the gravy.
