Instant Pot Salsa Verde Pasta – Gluten Free

Instant Pot Salsa Verde Pasta is a simple pressure cooker recipe that can be prepared in under 30 minutes. This gluten free recipe gets a bit of a kick from the Salsa Verde.

 

Pasta is a staple in our home so I like to come up with different variations to keep it interesting.

This tasty, full flavoured recipe yields 4 to 6 servings.

Savour every bite loaded with ground beef, pasta and a sauce with a little heat.

To make this Salsa Verde Pasta I poured olive oil into the Instant Pot and turned it to the Saute Normal function for 7 minutes.

I added in 2 pounds of lean ground beef, yellow onion and some spices.

Once the Instant Pot turned off the meat was still slightly pink.

I added in 3 1/2 cups of water to deglaze the Pot, making sure to scrape any brown bits off the bottom.

Next I sprinkled in a box of Catelli Gluten Free Fusilli. I Did Not Stir.

Instead of stirring I gently pushed the fusilli down into the liquid.

I dumped some pasta sauce of choice on top followed by some Salsa Verde.  I Did Not Stir.

Then I placed the lid on the Instant Pot, turned the steam release handle to the sealing position and set the Instant Pot to Pressure Cook High for 2 minutes.

Once the Instant Pot was done cooking, I immediately turned the steam release handle to the venting position to do a Quick Release.

Then I removed the lid and stirred the contents.

This will be very hot so it is fine to leave it for a couple minutes before serving it up.

This one Pot comfort meal will be enjoyed by anyone, and not just those that need to avoid gluten.

  1. Slice the yellow onion.
  2. Pour the olive oil into the Instant Pot and turn to the Saute Normal function for 7 minutes.
  3. Add the lean ground beef, sliced onion, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Break up the meat while it is cooking.
  4. The meat will still be slightly pink when the Pot shuts off.
  5. Add the water and use it to deglaze the Pot, scraping any brown bits from the bottom.
  6. Sprinkle in the Catelli Gluten Free Fusilli. Do Not Stir.
  7. Push the pasta down into the water.
  8. Pour in the pasta sauce. Do Not Stir.
  9. Dump in the Salsa Verde. Do Not Stir.
  10. Place the lid on the Instant Pot, turn the steam release handle to the sealing position and set the Instant Pot to Pressure Cook High for 2 minutes.
  11. Once the Instant Pot is done cooking, immediately turn the steam release handle to the venting position to do a Quick Release.
  12. Remove the lid and stir the contents well.
