The first step to preparing Orange Chicken Stir Fry was to slice up some boneless, skinless chicken breasts and turning a large skillet to medium high heat.

Once the skillet was heated  I added in some gluten free soy sauce.

I also poured in some orange juice.

After stirring the liquids I dumped in the chicken I had cut up.  I cooked these ingredients for about 2 minutes, stirring often.

Then I dumped in the mixed vegetables I had chosen.

I continued cooking for about 10 minutes or until the chicken was cooked through and the vegetables were tender crisp.

At this point you could thicken the sauce with a corn starch slurry, especially if you are not choosing to serve the stir fry over rice.

This stir fry looks vibrant and cheerful with its mix of chicken, vegetables, and orange juice.

How do I store orange chicken stir fry?

Here’s how to store orange chicken stir fry so it stays fresh, safe, and delicious:

Refrigerator Storage

  • Let the stir fry cool slightly, then place it in an airtight container.

  • Store in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.

  • The sauce will thicken as it chills, but it loosens up again when reheated.

❄️ Freezer Storage

  • Orange chicken stir fry freezes well, especially if the vegetables aren’t overcooked.

  • Cool completely, then transfer to a freezer-safe container or zip-top bag.

  • Freeze for up to 2 months for best flavour and texture.

  • If using veggies that get mushy (like zucchini), they may soften more after freezing—still tasty, just softer.

Reheating

  • Reheat in a skillet over medium heat with a splash of water or orange juice to bring the sauce back to life.

  • You can also microwave it in 30–60 second bursts, stirring halfway through.

  • Make sure it’s steaming hot before serving.
