The first step in making this hearty Tomato Beef Soup with Pasta, was to cut the stewing beef into bite sized pieces and dice one yellow onion.

Then I put some olive oil in the Instant Pot and turned it on to the Sauté Less function for 8 minutes.  I added the meat and diced onion.

I stirred occassionally while the meat and onions were cooking.  At the same time I diced up a couple stalks of celery.

When the Pot turned off the meat was still slightly pink.

Next I added some of the broth to use it to deglaze the Pot, scraping any brown bits from the bottom.  This is an important step to avoid the Burn message later when the Pot is coming to pressure.

Then I added the remaining broth.

After stirring in the beef broth I added the diced celery.

Next I stirred in some salt and pepper.

Now it was time to sprinkle in a box of Catelli Gluten Free Macaroni.  I gently pushed the pasta down into the liquid but I did not stir.

Once the pasta was submerged I dumped in a can of diced tomatoes.  I did not stir.

The last thing I added to the Instant Pot was some Creamy Garden Tomato soup.  I used the Imagine brand.  I did not stir.

Then I placed the lid on the Instant Pot, turned the steam release handle to the sealing position and set the Instant Pot to Pressure Cook High for 0 minutes.

Once the Instant Pot had reached pressure and was done cooking I immediately turned the steam release handle to the venting position to finish with a Quick Release.

I removed the lid and stirred the contents well.

This Instant Pot Tomato Beef Soup with Pasta is a simple but impressive soup recipe perfect for Instant Pot beginners.

When do you add the noodles? Unless I missed that step.

Hi Margaret, Thank you so much for catching this error. It was in the step by step above but not in the actual recipe. I have corrected this. Thanks again, Kathleen

Lots of typos that make this confusing - one example is "Then I placed the lid on the Instant Pot, turned the steam release handle to the sealing position and set the Instant Pot to Pressure Cook High for 0 minutes." Cook for 0 minutes? I don't think that's what you intended. Thanks for the recipe.

Hi there, Yes I did intend to say "0 minutes". The food cooks while it is coming to pressure. You do not want the pasta to be overcooked. I have seen recipes for pork tenderloin that also use the same cook time. Thanks for the question and you are very welcome! Take care, Kathleen
