Loaded Sloppy Joes - Gluten Free

Sloppy Joes are a family favourite.  This time I mixed it up a bit by adding in some extras.  This skillet recipe is loaded with ground beef, vegetables and flavour.  Served on a toasted gluten free bun this well known dinner choice really hit the spot!

Serve Loaded Sloppy Joes with a side of coleslaw for a complete meal.  This easy skillet recipe yields 4 servings.

Loaded Sloppy Joes can be quite messy to eat as a sandwich, so some people might prefer it open faced with a knife and fork!

Switch it up and top the meat with your coleslaw instead of serving it as a side.

To begin making Loaded Sloppy Joes I cut up some yellow onion, mushrooms, red pepper and carrots.

Then I put some olive oil in a large skillet, turned the heat to medium high and added a pound of lean ground beef.

After breaking the meat up I added salt, pepper and the cut up vegetables.

I stirred occasionally while the meat was cooking.

Once the meat was browned I used a large splatter guard to help me pour off the grease.

After draining the meat, I turned the heat to medium and dumped in some grape jelly,  bbq sauce (of your choice) and some minced garlic.  I stirred these ingredients in well.

Then I added one packet of Club House Gluten Free Sloppy Joe Seasoning mix.

After the Sloppy Joe Seasoning was incorporated I turned the heat to simmer for about 5 minutes.

While the meat was simmering I put 4 gluten free buns under the broiler until they were golden brown.

Once the buns were ready I served up the Loaded Sloppy Joes.  I let each person choose how they wanted it served.  Some people prefer to avoid any mess and use a knife and fork with an open faced sandwich.

Loaded Sloppy Joes are a great traditional comfort food!  Serve and enjoy this easy skillet recipe with your favourite sides.
