Before dumping the ingredients into a large mixing bowl, I first pierced one medium sweet potato and then cooked it in the microwave on high for 5 minutes.  Once cooked I mashed up enough to make 1/2 cup.

Once the sweet potato was ready and in the bowl, I added peanut butter, an egg, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, meringue powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, crushed red chili flakes and some ground cayenne pepper.

Then I used an electric hand mixer to blend all the ingredients until they were well combined.

Next I greased a square baking pan and lined it with parchment paper creating an overhang for easy lifting later.

I scraped the batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.

Then I placed it in a preheated 350F oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center came out clean.

After the brownie was removed from the oven I allowed it to cool.

When it was cool to the touch I melted semi-sweet chocolate chips on a low setting in the microwave for one minute.  I stirred and put them back in for 10 seconds increments until fully melted.

Once the chocolate chips were melted I spread them over top of the brownie in the pan.

Then I mixed together a bit of icing sugar and ground cinnamon.

I sprinkled this powder mixture over the melted chocolate.

When the chocolate had set I used the parchment paper overhang to carefully lift the brownie out of the pan.

I sliced the brownie into nine pieces and stacked them on a serving plate.

Everyone enjoyed these Flourless Spiced Brownies with their smooth texture and hint of fiery goodness.
