To begin making Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce I  blended some water and granulated together in a sauce pan over medium heat.

Once the water and sugar came to a boil I added some 1" rhubarb pieces and continued cooking over medium heat for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes I dumped in some sliced strawberries and cooked over medium/low heat for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

After 10 minutes I turned the burner to simmer and let the mixture continue cooking for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Then I removed the sauce pan from the heat and allowed the mixture to cool.  It will thicken more as it cools.

Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce is very tasty on its own..

Or after it cools it can be thick enough to spread on your toast.

More options are to use it as a topping on your next dish of ice cream....

Or as a cheesecake topping.

Be creative and enjoy the wonderful seasonal flavour combination of Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce!
